The electors of the Town of Kent and those qualified to vote in the Town Meeting are hereby warned and notified that the Annual Budget Meeting of the Town of Kent will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Kent Town Hall, 41 Kent Green Boulevard, Kent, CT for the purposes detailed in the Legal Notice dated the 7th of May 2013. The Kent Sewer Commission will hold a Public Hearing April 9, 2013 at 4:00 PM in the Second Floor Meeting Room of the Kent Town Hall for the purpose of receiving public comment with respect to proposed rates, charges and other fees to be charged for use and/or connection to the Kent Sewer System. Please click on above link to view these proposed charges.
The purpose of the public hearing is to obtain citizens’ views on the participating town’s community development and housing needs and review and discuss specific project activities in the areas of housing, economic development or community facilities which could be a part of a Regional Housing Rehabilitation Application for Funding Year 2013. Hearing will be held to discuss the reinstatement of the Resident State Trooper Program.
Meeting is Friday, February 15th at 7:00 P.M. in the Large Town Meeting Room at Town Hall.
Income eligilbe residential property owners in Kent who need to make critical home repairs have until February 28th to apply for a no interest loan through the newly established Regional Housing Rehabilitation Program. These loans would not need to be rapaid until the home is sold, transferred, or refinanced.
Eligible projects include wells, septic, heating updates, plumbing repairs, electrical, roofing, and weatherization, such as insulations, window replacement, and siding. To be income eligible property owners must have household incomes at or below 80% of the area median income. (Ex. a family of 4 would need to have a gross household income of $64,400 or less, a 2 person household can earn up to $51,550). Click here for more information on project and income eligibility.
