]]> Mon, 11 Feb 2013 00:00:00 GMT Now taking applications for Housing Rehabilitation Program Income eligilbe residential property owners in Kent who need to make critical home repairs have until February 28th to apply for a no interest loan  through the newly established Regional Housing Rehabilitation Program. These loans would not need to be rapaid until the home is sold, transferred, or refinanced.

Eligible projects include wells, septic, heating updates, plumbing repairs, electrical, roofing, and weatherization, such as insulations, window replacement, and siding.  To be income eligible property owners must have household incomes at or below 80% of the area median income.  (Ex. a family of 4 would need to have a gross household income of $64,400 or less, a 2 person household can earn up to $51,550).  Click here for more information on project and income eligibility.

Funding is limited and applications are reviewed and processed on a first come first served basis.  Contact First Selectman, Bruce Adams with any questions or to submit an application.

]]> Thu, 30 Aug 2012 00:00:00 GMT Energy Assistance Applications Kent Social Services will begin accepting appointments for the Energy Assistance Program for Kent residents on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 for deliverable fuel households only.  Limited evening and early morning appointments are available.  Appointments this year being earlier than in previous years in order to allow for applications to be reviewed by the certifying agency prior to the 1st delivery date in November.  Appointments for electric heat applicants will begin in mid-October.
