Social Services

Through support and advocacy, Kent Social Services assists the residents of the Town of Kent to maintain access to all basic needs including, but not limited to: adequate housing, food, transportation, income, and access to health services.

The Kent Social Services Department is responsible for case management and program implementation for Energy Assistance, Renter’s Rebate, as well as assisting with completing all applications for programs provided by the CT Department of Social Services (DSS). Kent Social Services runs and staffs the Kent Senior Center and the programs available there as well as the Kent Food Bank. Special programs such as the Back to School Program and Holiday assistance programs are also available through the department.

Due to the number of programs and responsibilities, office hours vary daily and it is extremely important to call ahead and make an appointment. We understand that all communication with our department is important and do our best to respond within a reasonable time.
